When I made the decision to take weight loss seriously, I felt both hopeful and a bit overwhelmed – how do I begin? Agency, and choice need each other if lifestyle changes are going to be fully embraced. However, there was so much so choice I didn’t know how to get started. I had to figure out how to make this work for me.
It might have been helpful to read about someone else’s journey. So, that is is why I am sharing what a morning living a healthy lifestyle looks like for me. It begins by getting real, I needed to have a plan of action. An idea is a spark but action is the muscle.
- Waking up to coffee and getting ready to go to spin.
- Coming home and making breakfast.
- Enjoy the meal and track it.
- Reflect on how I feel.
- Wash up, brush your teeth, and get dressed to get on with the rest of the day.
It’s not that I have this all figured out. I have daily struggles with food. There are days I resent having to be so aware of what I’m eating and/or drinking. Then there are other days when it all seems so easy and doable. It is what it is and the thing that makes the difference is that I want to do what I can to stay in good health and to feel happy with my appearance. So if you are waiting for some kind of feeling to come over you, like that magic moment of motivation I can tell you it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s not fate, I get to decide and so you.
