“Boo hoo,” said the Ghost

I’m sorry for ghosting you readers, I’ve been away too long. And, “boo hoo” indeed, I’m feeling pretty sorry for myself right about now. My weight loss journey has not been going good. I spent the summer ignoring this part of my life and I haven’t really been participating in my Weight Watcher meetings. I don’t really have a lot to share, if I open myself up to the group I’ll hear a lot of what I already know. Before you say it, I realize that is not a very helpful attitude to take, but it’s how I’m feeling. This blog is a place for honesty and this is just the truth for where I’m at right now.

Anyone who has lost weight knows what they need to do. I’ve written post after post sharing what works for me, and encouraging others to reach out and share what works for them. Here are my top five:

  1. Getting on the scale: recording my weight every day
  2. Consistent food tracking on my Weight Watchers app
  3. Drinking 64 ounces of water every day
  4. Working out every day clears my head
  5. Prepping and planning meals for the week

It’s not complicated but it takes energy and perseverance. Weight loss is my own personal marathon. One that I will have to run for the rest of my life. I took some time, I gained some weight back, and now I find myself at a new beginning – again. During my hiatus, I continued to weigh myself (every day) and I continued to drink 64 ounces of water. I am recommitting myself to daily workouts, prepping and planning meals, and consistent tracking. and This post is my little confession as I look at my journey with fresh eyes, and a clearer head. Come on readers, let’s go, we can figure this out as we go.

  1. I have thought of you often over these months. You have some habits still going strong while I’m still paying… and doing absolutely nothing… no tracking, no consistent weighing, not enough water – exercise so-so.
so you’re ahead of me in the habit scoring…

the unintended consequence of your post is that it has motivated me. If someone whom I’ve viewed as superhuman has a stumble… maybe it’s more attainable for me. Maybe it’s a human thing after all.
you’re going to get to goal again. It’s in your power and we know you’ve got a lot to draw on. go, you!!

  2. As they say, “the hardest part is showing up”. For me, “they” is my peloton instructor for you, maybe someone else!
You’re doing it, and you’ll get to where you want to be. Might not be goal but a place that you’re really comfortable with.
Looking forward to hearing from you again!
