My story is not unique.  I have lost a lot of weight only to gain it all back. Every month I pay my Gold’s Gym and Weight Watchers memberships, without getting any long-lasting results. Does any of this sound familiar?  I am starting this blog so I may reflect and, hopefully, learn from my mistakes.

What if I fail? Was it a total act of hubris, to include a “Countdown Clock” up here for all to see? Could this be the best thing I’ve ever done for myself? I don’t know. I guess I’ll find out either way. According to, Dr. Brené Brown, vulnerability is a marker of strength. but I’m not really convinced, as you can probably tell. Yet, here I am, putting all my insecurities and fears aside to share this journey with you, whoever you may be. I am dedicating myself to my ultimate goal, this is the year I reach a healthy sustainable weight!

If you can at all relate to my struggles, hopes, and dreams. I am looking for some good company along the way.  So, if you’re interested, I can offer empathy and optimism, I just ask for the same in return. Here we go…
