Being Self-Aware…

“What do you really want?”

“I want to get to a healthy weight. I want to lose weight. That’s what I really want.”

“If what you really want is to get to a healthy weight, what do you need to do?”

“I need to restart the healthy habits that helped me reach my goal last time.”

“What were those habits?”

“So what is stopping you from making this happen?”



“It’s not about the cookies.”

“No duh.”

“I have a stressful life, and it feels too hard to get this started. Every time I get it going, something happens to thwart my progress. I don’t believe I can do it again.”

“Will your life be any less stressful if you give up on what you really want?”



“What do you want me to say?”

“Say what you mean.”

“Ok, no it won’t be any less stressful. Maybe it is more stressful because if I don’t do anything to help myself it’s probably going to be worse on me.”

“There it is. Now what?”

“Now I get to work starting right now.”
