Day Ninety-Three…

Today is a good day to take some stock in where I am on my weight loss journey.

Reflecting On My Numbers:

When I look at my efforts in the most objective way, I am down 42. 4 pounds as of my last weigh-in. I have lost on average: 2 pounds per week for the past 13 weeks.  For the past 7 weeks, I have been tracking my activity points. I have reached my activity goal for 5 of those 7 weeks. I have chosen to weigh, measure, and track my food every day for the past 93 days.

Reflecting On My Life Through Writing

Blogging every day is helping me to stay conscious of everything I am doing that is contributing to my successful weight loss. Writing is an outlet that allows me to consider my emotions and behaviors in a deeply meaningful way. I encourage anyone who is doing this work to take a few minutes to write each day because only you can tell your story. If you write, let me know, I would love to read it.

Before I blogged, I would write in a notebook. I still use my notebook during my meeting to capture notes and thoughts. I was flipping through my notebook today, and I read an entry from last March.

A page from my notebook
I would not be ready to fully get back on track until September. It would be six months from when I wrote this entry.

I am telling you this because I don’t know where you are on your weight loss journey. Our bodies don’t define us and there are all kinds of beauty in the world. It’s really about what you want for yourself.  So, if you are not where you want to be on your journey – I can tell you that you have the power to change directions.  If you think this week will be the week that you make a change, and then it turns out not to be true – that doesn’t mean next week won’t be the week. If you are happy with where you are but a little voice inside you is telling you that it’s only a matter of time before you slip up – I tell you that is not an important voice you can change that story. Just take some time to examine where it’s coming from. If you are in the sweet spot, totally happy with your progress,  take a moment to think about what you’re doing to make that happen.

No matter what, I’m proud of you and you are enough. More tomorrow…
